While a national league, nine of the 16 teams are located in Melbourne. Be sure to visit AFL’s spiritual home, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Don’t let inclement weather deter you from seeing a match. Telstra Dome, located in the Docklands Precinct, has a roof covering the entire stadium creating prefect viewing conditions in any season. Both Telstra Dome and the MCG host AFL matches every weekend between during the season. Finals are played throughout the country in September with the Toyota AFL Grand Final played on the final Saturday at the MCG.
